Authorities and organizers often remind lottery players to set a spending limit for playing lottery games. This is to prevent overspending and other unwanted outcomes from inappropriate handling of one’s finances.
A player’s budget should depend on how much he can afford to lose. I, for one, play only on a tight budget so how I spend my money will allow me to make the most out of this activity.
I don’t spend it all at once. Otherwise, I will only be able to play in one draw.
I limit my spending per draw. I usually just buy 2-3 combinations since buying more combinations could increase the winning probability.
I skip playing some draws. I use combinations with patterns that offer the best ratio of success to failure. I base my timing strategy on the approximate interval of the pattern’s occurrence. I save money when I skip draws so I’m able to buy even more combinations when I play again.
These are what I usually do to extend the spending value of my lottery budget. What’s yours?

Lottery games are forms of entertainment. The goal is to have fun whenever you play a game. Yet, you might not find it enjoyable if you have been constantly losing due to bad decisions. It is, therefore, necessary to make the best decisions to decrease losses and prevent potential problems as a lottery player. This is how you can be a responsible lottery player.
Allow me to share with you some reminders on how to play lottery games responsibly. Please add more if you have other helpful ideas. Thanks!
1. Pay the bills before you play the games.
Lotteries should not be a priority whenever you are budgeting your money. Before rushing off to buy a ticket, pay all the bills and settle all your dues first.
2. Never forget that the lottery is not a source of income, but there are other ways to benefit from it.
Unless you are working in the lottery industry, never think that it can be a source of your income. When you play the lottery, expect that there is no way you can recover what you have lost. Spending money is inevitable as a lottery player.
If you are feeling depressed due to many losses, perhaps it is time to take a break. It is time to look for ways on how to benefit from lotteries aside from winning prizes. You could discover through Lotterycodex about an inverse lotto strategy on how you may profit from the industry.
You may start small by buying tickets for other players in exchange for a small fee. You may also invest money on stocks of lottery-related companies.
3. Play with a better understanding about the games.
Many players just look at the size of the jackpot when they play lottery games. However, it is not the jackpot that will let you play lottery games well.
Understand more about the winning probability and odds that a game offers. This will help in picking better games to play and in choosing combinations that will give you the greatest advantage.
4. Play with more combinations, but make sure that these combinations are worth spending money on.
In the UK Lotto 6/59, for example, one combination offers 1 in 45,057,474 winning probability. Buy another combination and you’ll have 2 in 45,057,474 winning probability. Buy more to increase your chances of winning.
Nevertheless, do not buy just any combination. Choose those that offer the best ratios of success to failure so you may play with fewer losses and more winning opportunities.
5. Maximize the spending value of your money.
This involves properly and strategically managing your lottery budget. If you have a budget of £50, how can you maximize its spending value? Decide on the most beneficial way of spending this money.
Should you spend it all in one draw since buying more combinations mean having more chances of winning? You may, but you might enjoy playing the lottery only once.
Should you have a spending limit per draw? This is a much better way to spend your money. Suppose you have set £2 per draws, you could play in 25 draws of the UK Lotto.
You could even implement a timing strategy so you can play only on the most opportune draws instead of successive draws. You can play with the best combinations whose pattern has an approximate interval.
For example, the approximate interval is 19. This allows you to skip 18-20 draws from the last time the pattern occurred. Save the money that you will otherwise spend on consecutive draws. This will let you buy more favorable combinations on your next game participation.
Another way to increase your money’s spending value is by joining or starting your lottery syndicate. In a syndicate, members pool their money so the group can buy more combinations. They share whatever prize their tickets win.

Do The Math Or Rely On Luck?

Many people hold on to the belief that lottery winners are extremely lucky. I dare not say otherwise, but is luck the only thing that can help a player achieve his goal to win the jackpot?
Winning the jackpot is no easy feat so every strategy is worth checking out. Yet out of all these tactics available to players, the appropriate mathematical approach is most likely the most reliable. Don’t let your bad impression drive you away from such a great opportunity. Besides, there are now lottery tools like Lotterycodex that can simply seemingly complex math computations.
Luck Or Math?
It is easy to get convinced that luck plays a big role in winning the lottery especially when you read about people who won on their first attempt or those who won using lucky numbers. However, math may have an explanation for these rare instances.
According to the law of truly large numbers, lottery coincidences could happen if there is a large enough number of draws. These draws could include the game involved, as well as other lottery games around the world.
We know that lottery draws are random so predicting the winning combinations is impossible. However, it is possible to play with the greatest advantage by using the appropriate math tools and concepts. It would be advantageous if you try to know more about the mathematical foundation of lotteries.
Getting Accurate Data Through Math
In a lottery game, all combinations have equal probability of winning. Assuming it is a 6/52 draw game, all combinations each offer the winning probability of 1 in 20,358,520. Yet, do not hastily buy any random combination or mark quick pick on the lottery playslip.
Realize that combinations differ in terms of the winning odds or ratio of success to failure they offer. For example, 3-19-28-31-47-50 might have better winning odds than 1-2-3-4-5-6. To verify this, we must look at the odd-even and low-high compositions of the combinations.
3-19-28-31-47-50 contains 4 odd and 2 even numbers. In 6/52, the 4-odd-2-even combinatorial pattern has 4,858,750 ways to win and 15,499,770 ways to lose. The formula for winning odds is (# of favorable combinations/# of unfavorable combinations). Therefore, we may also get the ratio of success to failure using this formula.
So, 4-odd-2-even offers the ratio of 1 to 3. Four attempts may give you one opportunity to win the jackpot. There are 24 winning shots you can enjoy out of 100 attempts using this combination. However, this is only for the odd-even composition.
3-19-28-31-47-50 also has 2 low and 4 high numbers. This low-high pattern also offers a ratio of 1 to 3. Hence, you could say that this is a good combination to use.
Now with 1-2-3-4-5-6, the pattern is 3-odd-3-even, which offers the best ratio of 1 to 2. This combinatorial pattern lets you have 33 winning shots in 100 draws.
Yet, its 6-low-0-high pattern offers the ratio of 1 to 87. In 100 draws, you can have just one winning opportunity. With best odd-even and worst low-high ratios, 1-2-3-4-5-6 is an example of a bad combination to use for 6/52.
Therefore, 3-19-28-31-47-50 is better to use than 1-2-3-4-5-6. However, this does not mean that you could play with the greatest advantage when you proceed on buying a ticket for 3-19-28-31-47-50. Remember that it has only “good” ratios to offer.
To play with the greatest advantage, find combinations with the best ratios. For every combination you think of, doing the combinatorial analysis may determine if it is worth your time and money. Forget about combinations with contradicting and/or poor ratios. Set your mind on combinations with best odd-even and low-high ratios.
Get Over Your Fear Of Math
By identifying the ratio of success to failure of combinations, you could choose those with more winning opportunities and fewer chances of losses. I know that mathematical calculations and analysis are overwhelming, but it would be a waste to forget this strategy because of this.
Since playing the lottery is about making the best choices of combinations, then you also have the option of using tools like Lotterycodex to use math as basis for a lottery game plan.
With Lotterycodex, you can use any number you want to use and it will generate all the possible combinations. Plus, it can tell which of these combinations are best, good, bad and worst to use.
It does not force you to use a particular set of combinations. Instead, it lets you make the best decision among many options. Decide on using combinations that can minimize losses and maximize winning opportunities.
Lotterycodex also offers other advantages, which include playing on the most opportune times and saving money. You could use the approximate interval of the Lotterycodex pattern of your selected combinations.
Suppose the approximate interval is 19. You could skip playing 17-21 draws from the last time this pattern occurred. Patterns are unlikely to occur in consecutive draws so marking the advance plays on the playslip might only waste your money.
Skipping games allow you to save money so you can buy more combinations (with best patterns and ratios) next time. As you can see, math provides a better playing solution for lottery games. Math lets you choose your combinations well and also helps you create a favorable timing strategy.

How do you predict something that's random?

The lottery is obviously completely random - this means it's possible for any combination of numbers to emerge, the same way as it's possible for a roulette ball to land on any number in any given spin. But those of us on this forum intuitively believe that there is order hidden within the chaos - that patterns and 'rules' within the randomness exist. We attempt to better grasp this elusive knowledge, in the hope of at least giving ourselves an 'edge' over the layman lottery player.

A common basic strategy, of which there are many variations, is to look for occurrences that are overdue. It could be a number that hasn't appeared for the best part of a year, or a pair of numbers that hasn't appeared for many years, or something slightly more complex like expecting 2 numbers in the forties because that hasn't happened for a while. Sceptics call this "gambler's fallacy" - they say that the draw machine or roulette wheel or whatever has no memory, and thus it cannot apply the logic that we are deducing from our analysis.

And yet, everything we see from looking at the big picture tells us there ARE rules that are always proven true over a long enough period of time. If something is possible and you wait long enough for it, it will happen, provided nothing happens in the meantime to render that thing impossible. The same sceptics themselves who use the term "gambler's fallacy" will also tell you that because the lottery is random then every possible combination of numbers will eventually come up given an infinite number of draws - which contradicts their own argument about the draw equipment having no memory to implement such 'rules'.

But what they say in that regard remains true - draw machines do not think, or remember what numbers came before. Anything is possible, even the same set of 6 numbers repeating from one draw to the next. Anything is possible, machines do not have a memory, and yet at the same time we know intuitively that there is order within the chaos.

At this point, it's worth realising that gambling games aren't the only examples of randomness - far from it. The universe itself is random. The physical laws that govern the universe are 'just right' for the development of life. Relatively small changes in certain parameters would make it uninhabitable by the likes of us and we wouldn't be here. If you put aside the somewhat far-fetched theory that there are in fact multiple universes, and this just happens to be a rare universe that is habitable, then that means the 'randomness' that formed the laws of physics to which we owe our very existence was also working to some kind of rules.

So in the end, it comes down to your fundamental beliefs - is there meaning to life, to creation, to art and music, to anything? Or is it all just a random mess that had the fortunate effect of granting us an enjoyable and beautiful yet accidental existence? What do you think?

Anyway, all of that was really just a preamble to what this topic is actually about, and that's a new way of thinking in regards to making predictions. If there is some cosmic force that prevents numbers and other events from becoming infinitely overdue, then what is to say that it won't also have other effects? In my mind, this 'guiding force' or GF as I call it exists to 'fill in the gaps', and operates at various levels of efficiency at different times. When a number is very overdue, then that is actually an example of the GF working at a low level of efficiency in that area. Likewise, if a number has been appearing a lot, that doesn't mean it will continue to and also is an instance of inefficency.

Now, I'm not saying we should totally disregard overdue occurrences - we know they have to come at some point, and so are well worth bearing in mind. But what about when the GF is working at a peak level of efficiency? This is something I noticed during recent months while studying randomness within soccer results. Yes, football. A lot of people don't realise this, but there is a high degree of randomness that goes into the number of goals scored. Sure, the relative skills and playing styles of the teams and the players are strong factors, but goal-scoring opportunities are still pretty much random occurrences, as are actual goals. So I went into it trying to use the same strategy as we might use for the lottery - looking for overdue scorelines or match goal totals for various teams. I had some success with this strategy, but it also suffered from the same limitations - it could be easy to underestimate how overdue something would become, and have to wait too long for it to happen.

Then, something else came to my attention. I noticed time and time again, that I would spot a perfect sequence of goal totals - not usually in numerical order, but neatly filling in all gaps with maximum efficiency. I'll give an example of what I mean. Here are a set of most recent results from the Paraguayan team Sol de America (source: uk.soccerway.com):

Fri	29/01/16 DIP Sol de América 0 - 1 River Plate
Thu	04/02/16	DIP	Libertad 1 - 2 Sol de América
Mon	08/02/16	DIP	Sol de América 4 - 3 Nacional Asunción
Sun	14/02/16	DIP	Deportivo Capiatá 1 - 1 Sol de América
Sat	20/02/16	DIP	Sol de América 3 - 1 General Díaz
Sun	28/02/16	DIP	Cerro Porteño 1 - 4 Sol de América

What do you notice about these scores? Well, try counting the goals in each one. The totals are 1, 3, 7, 2, 4, 5. Now, which number is missing from that unordered sequence? I'm sure you can see the missing number is 6. So, what do you think the result was in the next match?

Thu	03/03/16	DIP	Sol de América 3 - 3 Sportivo Luqueño

Yup, 6 goals. I'm showing this example as it is one I actually spotted at the stage BEFORE the match with 6 goals took place, and I even watched the match to see what would happen. When it was 5 minutes to half-time and no goals had been scored, I thought it was probably going to be wrong. Then, two goals came in quick succession and it again had a chance. The second half started slowly again but a flurry of goals brought the total to 6, to my amazement. Now I say amazement, but this is far from the first time I've seen such an indicator fulfilled. It just never ceases to amaze me, that's all. More intriguingly, 6 goals is not a usual result in football - the odds are against it. But it happened because it was supposed to. The fact that there had already been a result with 7 goals previously, creating a gap, meant that was a gap to be filled in.

It is also an example of the GF operating at peak efficiency. Now, you have to look at a LOT of different teams' recent results to find a situation where such an efficient sequence is emerging. The perfect time to come in is where there is just one or perhaps two goal totals results remaining to complete a perfect sequence - remember what we are doing here is judging the efficiency and taking advantage of the situation. Obviously, it doesn't work every time - there would be something wrong if it did. But it works often enough, and with unlikely enough high-odds results, that it is definitely a strategy worth following in my view. I call this technique the Omega Protocol, or simply Omega - because what we are looking for ideally is the final or 'omega' result in the sequence.

Now with this insight into randomness, an obvious question is how can it be applied to the lottery? In football, the range of total goals that are feasible in most matches is 0 through to 7. With the lottery, it is somewhat more complex. Sum-totals may be a good starting point, but with a much greater range it is unlikely we will see effeciency great enough to pinpoint a precise sum. Perhaps if the sum is boiled down to its numerical element, for example 187 becomes 1+8+7 =16 = 1+6 = 7 then we may have a chance of seeing omega-level efficiency at some stage, but even then it will (if successful) only reduce the odds down to about 10% of the 45,000,000+ possibilities, which is still overwhelming enough.

I welcome any thoughts on this approach.

I thought I would mention the best bit of kit on the lottery scene and that is the software program LOTTERY DIRECTOR
I purchased this over the web from the usa about 8 years ago it is quite pricey, but you get a lot for your money
You get a RING BINDER with heaps of information. tips on how to use the software loads and loads of wheels and moneywise it is very good value
I have not won large amounts but this software does help a lot

now as regards thunderball which, which is the game of choice for me rather then the main game
one tip I can give you(thunderball) is take the first six sets of winning
numbers and look for your 5 draws in those six sets
It does not work all the time somtimes you get 2s, 3s,4s but mostly 4s the trick is to guess what numbers are coming out ie ODDS or EVENS ,then this can greatly reduce your numbers to choose from

look at saturdays draws 4.10.26.30.32 they where all EVEN NUMBERs and where located in the first six sets of numbers
ie draw results 709 to 704
kind regards
